"Odour" can also affect Law Enforcement!!

Yes, "Odour" can also affect Law Enforcement!!

Smell perception is not only odour sensation, it is also triggering of experiences and emotions associated with that smell. Research shows that many of our olfactory likes and dislikes are based purely on emotional associations. As, olfactory receptors are directly connected to the limbic system, which is thought to be the seat of emotion. Considering, smell as one of the strongest of the senses which influence brain activity, a bad or foul smell can also trigger bad influence or experience.

Two years before, when I came to Ahmedabad, Gujarat, what I saw, in India, is considered as normal practice and negligible stuff. At Maninagar Railway Station, "Police Chowki" (Police Station) and "Peshab Ghar" (Open Urinal) are sharing common wall. It is obvious, one can sense pungent ammoniacal smell of the urine near to the open urinal. Considering, near by, well facilitated new toilet building, it doesn't make any sense of having open urinal between police chawki and toilet building. Correct me, if it does.

Back to my experience, being new to Ahmedabad, I directly approached to one of the "Home Guard" standing near the chowki, to inquire, how he tolerate this irritating smell. He sarcastically replied, "We are here to protect you, also when you pee" and started giving me "get away from work" look.

The thing is, this is not an unavoidable problem. There is no need to have open toilet, at least not there. Do you really think, that police station and open urinal should share common wall. Of course, no, because bad working environment triggers bad work emotions, considering police, it ultimately affect the law enforcement of that area.

As, we have seen the connection of smell with emotions and experience. Keep your neighborhood clean and make a healthy and happy environment.

Heat Wave in India

Here it Comes..... Comments and suggestions are welcome!!

After Heat Wave - Still No Sustainability

After Heat Wave - Still No Sustainability After recent significant heat waves and their consequent outcomes in the weather trends, there is still a need for the adoption of sustainable measures. This post will focus on the effects of human activities on the energy cycle of the earth. The most immediate fix is the best option but for the short term only. Now, the time has come to achieve the long-term goals by imposing stringent policies. Source: University of Bristol Recent studies estimate that the world will add about 1 billion Air Conditioners (ACs) by the end of 2030, and projected to nearly double before 2040. This expansion of AC coverage threatens to worsen the crisis it's responding to, as most ACs still use refrigerants like Hydro Fluoro Carbons (HFCs), which can have 1,000 times the warming potency of Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Further, various studies estimate that if the world fails to lower, the dependence on HFCs could result in half a degree Celsius of warming by the end

Why Alang is Alag (Discrete)!!

Alang, a town near to Bhavnagar City of Gujarat, India have become one of the major worldwide center for ship breaking. Even, one of the longest ship ever built i.e. "Knock Nevis" was sailed to Alang for demolition. Also, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), on August 7, 2013, proposed to set up six nuclear reactors with a total capacity of 6,600 MW in Mithi Virdi, Gujarat, near to Alang. Now, question arises "Why Alang is Alag". This happened yesterday evening, as I was waiting on bike for more than half an hour to pickup my friend near Iscon Temple, Ahmedabad, couple of Police Officers came to me, and inquired about my motive, which is very good patrolling practice. After my document verification and giving them reason of being there, they asked me "what I do". I told them I am environmental consultant, and I work for environment protection and pollution abatement. Listening to it, they asked me to join them, to
