Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Potential of Electric Vehicles (4-Wheeler)

Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Potential of Electric Vehicles (4-Wheeler) Currently, the #indian #electricalvehicle #industry (IEVI) has gathered momentum due to a rise in #crudeoil prices and support provided to the IEVI by #governmentsupport . People are readily adopting Electrical Vehicles (EVs), intending to reduce monthly expenditures. However, there is still a need for advancement in infrastructure facilities, including #greenenergy supply, #chargingstations , and highly efficient charging systems for the mass shift from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to EVs. In 2019, EVs represented only 0.1% of total #fourwheeler (4W) light-duty passenger road vehicle sales. When the life cycle #greenhousegas (GHG) emissions compared the 3 Nos. of most popular brands of the available EVs with the available counterpart light-duty passenger road vehicles based on Petrol (Spark Ignition), and Diesel (Compression Ignition), the picture becomes hazier. The green-colored positive...

Free Water for India

Free Water for India हिंदी लेख के लिए यहां क्लिक करें Since the inception of EnviroChem Services (OPC) Pvt. Ltd., we have been seeking the possibility of providing  Free Water   in Tier 1 Cities in India. Currently, the following cities come under the Tier 1 classification of India. Ahmedabad Bengaluru Chennai Delhi Hyderabad Kolkata Mumbai Pune These said eight cities are considered  metro  cities and developed cities of India. The benefit of living in a metro city in India is the eligibility for House Rent Allowance (HRA) Tax Exemption. For the metro cities, the HRA is computed as 50% of the sum of Basic Salary & Dearness Allowance (DA).  Hence, a person employed in a metro city is eligible for a Tax exemption of 50% of the salary, enabling them to expence more on lifestyle. These characteristics can be beneficial for the proposed model. Considering the available population data of these eight cities and the suggested benchmark of 135 liters per capita...

Water Body Rejuvenation or Deterioration

India has implemented the World Lake Vision, developed by the International Lake Environment Committee (#ilec), #japan, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (#unep), for the sustainable use of Lakes and Reservoirs in the Bhoj Wetlands, Chilika Lake, Lake Hussainsagar, Powai Lake, Lonar Lake, and Ujjani Reservoir. After more than a decade, nearly all the identified problems of inflow of #sewage and #wastewater, along with immersion of Idols/Tazis, have been constraint sustainability by upgrading capacities of the existing #sewagetreatmentplant, installing new sewage treatment plants, shifting or providing dedicated locations for immersion, and installing #biological fencing. However, the problem of #algae blooms due to the eutrophication of lakes still requires prime focus from the #governmentofindia. The #sustainablesolution to the said problem was to promote #organicfarming. Howeve...

Microplastic Effect

Microplastic Effect Attached Growth Process Attached-growth processes are biological treatment processes used in wastewater treatment and indoor fish farming where the biomass is grown on support media for organic pollutants degradation. Attached-growth processes are easy to operate and resilient to shock loads. However, they are less flexible for process control than the activated-sludge process. The earlier developed media are rock, ceramic, and slag. However, currently, plastic materials are preferred as they are economically mass-produced. With the advantage of the compact design of the attached growth processes, the process becomes a favorable option for the upgradation of the existing wastewater treatment plant. The available technologies for Wastewater and Sewage treatment are Moving Bed Bio-Reactor (MBBR) and Fluidized Aerated Bed (FAB) Reactor. Further, with the advantage of handling high organic loading, the process becomes a favorable option for indoor fish farming. The avai...

Shallow Aquifer - Weakening Foundation

Shallow Aquifer - Weakening Foundation Significant Cracks on Building Structure  During the testing of our newly developed chemical for waterproofing, we observed significant cracks in the basement of the newly constructed buildings in nearly all the metro cities of India. On investigation, we found that these buildings or their neighbouring buildings have incorporated Ground Water Recharge Wells. On further investigation, we found that the said Ground Water Recharge Wells were not been designed by competent personnel. The management has given the contract to the lowest bidder. Note: Ground Water System is very complex and needs an expert to design a sustainable Ground Water Recharge Wells. How are these major basement cracks related to Ground Water Recharge Wells? During the design of the Foundation, we all came up with the terminology Uplift Pressure or Hydrostatic Uplift, defined as an upward pressure applied to a structure that has the potential to raise it relative to its surr...

Rain Water Management

In Continuation of my previous post regarding  Water Management , written a long back, there is still a need for Rain Water Management. Yesterday, one of my team members asked me the question  Why nature is so harsh to us!, is all the current scenario of fash flooding in India is due to Global Warming and Climate Change? I thought for a moment and replied:  Yes, the uneven rain is due to the Climate Change, Global Warming is one of the reasons of the same, however, the flash flooding is due to poor practices and governance in India . He stared at me and asked me  What is Government to do with all, heavy rain and flooding are a natural phenomenon, why you always so skeptical with Government Policies, this time I won't accept your justification? I asked him,  What is the surface area of Surat City? He replied,  Let me search, it's around 327 km2. Immediately I took the calculator, did the calculations and replied,  Ok, the city will generat...
