True Zero Liquid Discharge

Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD),  a process which is meant to be beneficial to effluent generating organizations, by saving money, as well as "Environment" , as nearly all the generated waste have been reused back. ZLD can be achieved by following means, 1) Thermal Operations 2) Filtration Operations 3) Combinations of Both The main constraint of above-mentioned means are, the both technologies require high CAPEX as well as OPEX. Consequently, water treatment experts were seeking for new innovative means, by which they can achieve ZLD, in most Economical Way. The process, which makes me write this article , one of the most adopted ZLD System, for Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant Reject, is Spaying Reject into the Atmosphere. The said system looks like this Coming to the point, which your "So-called Water Treatment Experts" didn't tell you, is ZLD simply means, "ZERO LIQUID DISCHARGE".  Spraying high  Total Dissolved S

Heat Wave in India

Here it Comes..... Comments and suggestions are welcome!!

So called Sustainable Policies Leading to Catastrophe

Sustainable Development is a very complex idea, which makes it is very difficult to understand, even to the Policymakers.   “Sustainable Development is the development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” - Brundtland Commission Ministries of the Government of India have come up with various schemes from time to time. Not getting into any political debate, if one look closely the policy making has been boomed from 2015.  However, it seems like policymakers have misinterpreted the sustainable development terminology and/or the pressure of making more number of policies had requisite them to make contradictory policies, which shall lead to catastrophe. For example, consider the case of "Water Resource in India". India represents 16% of the World Population, accounts for 2.45% of Land Area and Only 4% of Water Resources of the World. The government had already imposed Regulati

Denge (Will give) Dengue!!

Past month, dengue was spread in the Ahmedabad, mostly in its west, due to adequate ambient temperature for breeding of Aedes Aegypti, white striped mosquito which spread the dengue and other virus. But, alone, temperature is not the major cause of spreading dengue. The "unseasonal rains" enhances the water accumulation for breeding of the mosquitoes. The water accumulated for more than day or two is adequate for the mosquito breeding, and accumulated water can be found in houses, parks, pubic buildings, "thrown scrap", etc. One should not forget that, Aedes Aegypti bites during the day time. Hence, wearing long-sleeved clothes and burning or spraying the mosquito repellent during the day is advised. But, are you really think, this is the solution of the problem. No, it's not. "We" have to take stand to clean our neighborhood. "We" means, every individual.  For example, recently, one of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's

Cold Wave in India!!

The minimum temperature of last three days of Ahmedabad, India was about 15, 14, 10 degree Celsius, respectively. Considering, past temperature trend and meteorological data of the Ahmedabad, drastic variations can be seen. The question arises in my mind, "Why, this sudden change in meteorological conditions??" Also, recent rains in the several parts of north India, which intensify the coldness of the region, amplify my curiosity, to think, "Why, rain is happening in the December??" In my knowledge, answer to the above questions lies in the "Monsoon". Yes, the Monsoon of the India have the answer of this Cold Wave. Let us consider the shown below figure of Monsoon Pattern, taken from Wikipedia . It can be seen in the above shown Monsoon Pattern, "Himalayan Mountain Range" and "Ocean Winds" are the major cause of the Monsoon. Now, considering all the above stated reasons, I am predicting that, the Indian Ocean

"Odour" can also affect Law Enforcement!!

Yes, "Odour" can also affect Law Enforcement!! Smell perception is not only odour sensation, it is also triggering of experiences and emotions associated with that smell. Research shows that many of our olfactory likes and dislikes are based purely on emotional associations. As, olfactory receptors are directly connected to the limbic system, which is thought to be the seat of emotion. Considering, smell as one of the strongest of the senses which influence brain activity, a bad or foul smell can also trigger bad influence or experience. Two years before, when I came to Ahmedabad, Gujarat, what I saw, in India, is considered as normal practice and negligible stuff. At Maninagar Railway Station, "Police Chowki" (Police Station) and "Peshab Ghar" (Open Urinal) are sharing common wall. It is obvious, one can sense pungent ammoniacal smell of the urine near to the open urinal. Considering, near by, well facilitated new toilet building, it doesn't

Need of effective Air Pollution Control Measures!!

There is a need of effective Air Pollution Control Measures (APCM) adaptation by Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). This year, Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), Gandhinagar had conducted Seminar on Odor Control, emphasizing on the consideration of human sensation, i.e. visual and odor, for planing good and effective APCM. Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) had also proposed to Install online Continuous Stack Emission Monitoring Systems (CSEMS) in identified highly polluting industries. However, in the evening, between 18:00 to 19:00 Hours, while crossing Dr. Ambedkar Bridge, one can observe Black Smoke Emission from stacks of the SMEs located at Danilimda, Ahmedabad. Also, one can sense foul odor near Danilimda BRTS Stop, which may be due to Pirana Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), which is one of the biggest STP in Asia. The idea, behind writing this article, is to strictly implement Air Pollution Control Systems (APCS) i.e. Bag Filters, Cyclone Separators,
